Welcome to the Equality Charter School

Unleash your 6th, 7th, and 8th graders' limitless potential in 2012-2013!

In 2012-2013 we will offer CSD 11 families 78 seats for 6th graders and any open seats for 7th graders and 8th graders.
Students from CSD 11 receive preference in our lottery on April 5, 2012.

Applications for the lottery will be accepted for the lottery if they are postmarked by March 30, 2012. Applications will be accepted after that date, but will be placed on the waitlist in the order received.

Highlights of the Equality Charter School program include:

Breakfast provided at the school beginning at 8:30am in the school auditorium.
A regular school day from 9:00 am to 3:51 pm so that students get enough sleep.
A small school with class sizes of 26:2 and strong administrators, teaching coaches, teachers, counselors, social worker, morning aides and afternoon aides.
A middle school program with both advanced and remedial classes to meet the needs of all learners, close the achievement gap, and prepare students for their college-prep high school.
A safe school. We concentrate on catching students when they do well and rewarding them when they meet our expectations.
In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, ECS also offers many after school sports including flag football, track, basketball, volleyball and cheerleading.
The Success Principles Action Plan: students will actively identify their goals and plan action steps to reach them.
True data-driven instruction, where school staff meet every morning from 8:00 am -9:00 am to discuss student progress, collaborate on instruction, receive professional development, and advance Equality.

If your child is accepted, you will be asked to provide proof of residence and relationship to your child at registration. You must be able to prove that you meet a preference category in order to receive it.

Equality Charter School is located in Section 5 of Co-Op City in the Bronx. We are located on the third floor of the P.S. 160 building.
