National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), is being celebrated this week (February 6-10) to highlight the tremendous impact school guidance counselors can have in helping students achieve success and plan for high school and beyond.
In recognition of this week, Equality Charter School would like to highlight Lisa Winter, our school’s guidance counselor for her work to help students assess their abilities, strengths and interests; enhance students personal development; provide informational sessions to help educate and support students about bullying; and for working with parents and teachers so that every student can set realistic and optimistic goals for themselves while reaching their limitless potential.
Principal Caitlin Franco, in recognition of this week said, “guidance counselors provide an invaluable resource to all students and parents, informing them on a wide range of concerns from academics to social skills to high-school options and everything in-between. We thank Lisa and the rest of the Equality staff for their relentless work in helping all Equality students achieve.”
School guidance counselors, especially Lisa are always there to help and she has always encouraged both parents and students to contact her if they have any questions or concerns.
